Most questions are answered below. If yours is not, email us and include your iPhone model, iOS version and how the display is connected.

Getting connected

How do I connect to an external display?

USB-C iPhones (iPhone 15 and newer): use a USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter, a USB-C monitor or a lapdock. Lightning iPhones: use Apple's Lightning Digital AV Adapter. You can also AirPlay to an Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible TV. Open DeskState and the desktop appears on the monitor automatically.

The monitor still mirrors my phone.

Make sure DeskState is in the foreground on the iPhone. If the display was connected before the app launched, unplug and reconnect once. Some HDMI adapters that are not MFi-certified never carry video on iPhone; a cable that works with a Mac is not a guarantee.

Can I use a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard?

Yes. Pair them in iOS Settings → Bluetooth. DeskState also works with just the phone: swipe to move the cursor, tap to click, two fingers to scroll or drag, and the on-screen keyboard for typing.

Does it run my other iOS apps in windows?

No. iOS does not allow one app to display another, so DeskState runs its own tools and web apps in windows. Most services (Gmail, Google Docs, Notion, GitHub, Slack) work well as web panels.

Pro Preview, free plan and Pro

What is the Pro Preview?

The first time you connect a display, every Pro feature is unlocked for 24 hours at no cost and without a purchase. It starts automatically and runs once per device.

What does the free plan include after the preview?

The complete desktop with a time limit: three sessions per day, five minutes each. Nothing is removed from your notes or settings. The remaining sessions are shown on the app's home screen.

What does Pro add?

Unlimited desktop time, quarter window snapping, premium accent colours and dock styles, image and custom wallpapers, the Tasks and World Clock tools, and iCloud sync of settings and notes. Plans are monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase; current prices are shown in the app and on the pricing section.

I bought Pro but the app still shows the free plan.

Open the Pro plans screen from the app's home card or Settings and use the restore option at the bottom. Make sure the iPhone is signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still fails, email us with the App Store receipt.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on the iPhone. Access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
